VI

Back to 1990.

Dreamt I drove over a hundred miles in vain.
Then everything magnified. Sparrows as big as hens
sang so loud that it briefly struck me deaf.

Dreamt I had drawn piano keys
on my kitchen table. I played on them, mute
The neighbors came over to listen.

-Tomas Transtromer, from Sorrow Gondola

      • I got hold of the Robin Foulton translation of the ‘new collected poems’ on bloodaxe, I started to go a little strange after reading it constantly for a few days! These days all it takes is a few lines and I’m straight back there again (is this a metaphor?!) anyway I do like!
